Life has been busy in the Cohen household over the past few months. Everyone is now adjusted to the new routines and things are going smoothly. Felix loves being in kindergarten and all of the new things he is learning. Check out some pictures of Eleanor (including her first real haircut) on her blog.
For the past week, Kindergarten has been the #1 topic around our house, and the big day has finally arrived. Felix was all smiles when we arrived at school. Inside his classroom, a seat was all ready for him, with a name tag, and a little cup of art supplies. It's going to be an exciting year!
After a cool start to the Portland summer, it was a fun change to experience the heat and humidity of the east coast. When we first landed, Felix announced that he was "melting". It wasn't long until he was declaring he was ready for us to buy our next house in Pennsylvania!
To celebrate the 4th of July this year, we went to our first rodeo. It was a great experience for all of us. We didn't expect there to be an entire carnival going on too. Felix and Eleanor rode the carousel although Felix was much more excited about it than his sister. The rodeo itself lasted over 2 1/2 hours and had all sorts of contests including bucking broncos, steer wrestling, barrel racing and more. It was quite an adventure!
Another favorite summer activity is picking blueberries on Sauvie Island. Felix is now at the point where he can pick them and put enough in his bucket to actually bring some home. Eleanor is at the fun stage when she will pick anything. Green, blue, off the ground, it doesn't matter. It all goes in her mouth! We came home with over 10 pounds of blueberries and can't wait until we go again.
