This was Felix's first Christmas in our home! He hasn't quite figured out how Santa made it down and then up the chimney but he didn't let that spoil the fun. After opening presents and eating a delicious breakfast, we took a walk together in the snow!

Fun with Friends

This week we learned the word "flexible" as we figured out how to adjust to Felix's day care being closed after a water pipe burst. As the directors were frantically getting the center cleaned up and ready to open, the parents started to organize. Every day someone opened their home to the kids and the teachers. Felix had fun seeing other homes and playing with new toys. Here are a few pictures from the day spent at our house. Tomorrow it's back to school!

10 Years!
10 years ago last week, Joshua and Elise went on a crazy adventure that included a flat tire, sitting on the beach and lots of laughs. Who'd of guessed that all these years later, they'd still enjoy spending time together and finding little adventures to share. In celebration, Josh surprised Elise with a trip to the beach. The weather even cooperated and we had an amazing sunset!

Farmers Market
Felix has been talking about the "Farmers Market" quite a bit recently. Last weekend, when mama was out of town, he gathered some fallen apples into a bucket and called out "bye-bye da-da". He went on to explain that he was going to the farmer's market. (to sell the apples, perhaps?) Intrigued, I followed him out of the backyard, down the street, and over to the bus stop, 2 blocks from our house.
While we sat there waiting for the bus, I explained that we really couldn't go all the way to the Farmers Market without getting coats, snacks, and bus fare. By the time we made it back home to gather all these things, it was too late to take the bus downtown and get back before naptime. But we did take the bus to a festival (kind of like a farmers market) at a nearby park. Felix brought his bucket o' apples, but when we got there he became more interested in the playground equipment. We still had a lot of fun that day, even if we didn't sell any apples.

Oregon SOLV Beach CleanUp
This was the second year that we participated in the Oregon Beach CleanUp. On Saturday the entire coast had volunteers picking up trash and debris. We decided to drive down Friday night, camp close to the beach, and help with the clean up on Saturday. On our way home, we picked up fresh clams and crab. Delicious!
