Holiday Spirit

As the days get shorter and the nights colder, we are all getting into the holiday spirit. We had a recent trip to see the Oregon Zoo Lights which helps get into the season. We are counting down the days until our trip back east!

Chillin' at Home

It's cold & wet outdoors, so I've been spending more time inside, but that's OK since I've got my friend Forrest to hang out with. Dada says I'm growing up fast. What do you think?

Enjoying Fall

The rain is here but we have had some brief breaks that allow us to enjoy the chill in the air and colorful leaves of fall. We hope everyone has a fantastic Thanksgiving!

Adventure in San Francisco

First the camera broke. Then we had to get another one (tough decision). Then we got busy. But now...an update!

Felix went trick or treating for the first time this year. (Last year he was asleep for the night by 4:30pm) He dressed as a bear and visited the neighbors who wanted to shower him with chocolate. He opted for a handful of his favorite Cheerios.

This weekend we went to San Francisco where Felix got to see some of the sights from his mommy and daddy's past and spent time with Baba Barney. He sampled chinese food, ate at the oldest restaurant in SF, saw the penguins eat, rode a horse, shopped, and was an all around good sport. We had wonderful weather and a great visit! More weekend fun

Busy weekend!

With our new fall schedule, the weeks are long and the weekends are busy! This weekend was no exception. We started with a trip to the coast for the annual Oregon beach clean-up where volunteers come to beaches from the Washington boarder to California to help pick up trash. It was a lot of fun helping out, playing in the surf and checking out the dunes.

The excitement continued when Felix and Elise participated in the Komen Race for the Cure. We did the 5K walk together with other teachers, parents and students from Elise's new school. There were over 46,000 people participating in all of the events making it the largest Race for the Cure event on the west coast and one of their top 5 events in the world. It is always very powerful and moving to take part in such an event!

Last days of summer!

With Elise switching jobs, the carefree days of summer are quickly coming to an end. That doesn't mean that anyone has slowed down though! This month started with an exciting trip to New Mexico with visits to all of the southwest grandparents! Felix found that a great way to pass the time in the airport is to act like a hamster and run on the moving sidewalk...in the opposite direction! He also practiced his kung fu moves while wearing Grandma Barbara's hat. Now that we're back in Portland, Felix has had time to catch up with friends, including Phoebe. Hope everyone is finding time to enjoy the last days of summer.

Visiting Mt. Hood

I had a fun visit to Timberline Lodge, where Mama & Dada got married five years ago. It is very pretty up there. Even though I got sleepy at the end, it was still fun to explore the lodge and have some food & drink.

Headed back East

I woke up very early this morning, and went to the airport for a flight to Philadelphia. I'm going to spend almost two weeks visiting Grandparents and a whole bunch of Mommy's friends & family. I'm sure it will be fun, but right now, all I want to do is go back to sleep!

Spring in Oregon

We've been busy lately. Here are some of the things we've been up to!

Water

We've had a water theme going on recently. Last weekend we went to Corvallis to cheer on Papa as he amazed the crowd with his speedy swimming. He did a great job!

The weather has been great lately and I've been able to go to Jamison Square and play in the water. I can't wait for summer to be here for good!

1st Birthday!

Wow! It is hard to believe that it's been a year already! The celebration started this past weekend with many vistors and a chocolate cake. What a great way to start off the new year :-)
