Last days of summer

Here are some fun moments from our trip to central Oregon. Felix loved it. He can't wait to go back to the Inn at the Seventh Mountain next year. When you are 6 you can only ride the pony. As a 7 year old, you can ride a horse and go on trails in the forest. He can't wait!

Portland has a major league soccer team!

This season is the first for the Portland Timbers as part of the MLS. The excitement around this team is unbelievable. The regular season games are almost completely sold out. It didn't look like we would get to make it to any games until we learned about the reserve team. There were fewer people which meant we could sit in any seat we wanted and didn't have to deal with any crowds. It's the perfect intro to major league soccer. Later this summer we will go to a regular season game but in the mean time, we'll cheer on the reserve team and Felix will learn all the Timber Army traditions. Go Timbers!

Conversation During Felix's 6 Year Old Check-up

Felix: Eleanor and I come from a long line of yellers.

Elise: (Stands there with a look of shock on her face for a few seconds while the doctor is quietly typing notes.)

Elise: Are you saying that Mommy and Daddy yell a lot?

Felix: No. I said Eleanor and I come from a long line of yellers. You and Daddy come from a long line of serious people.

I'm glad we've got that sorted out!
